We'd really like to buy 1,000 burritos for frontline workers. Please help us achieve this goal, and also join us for the half-marathon in your own town. Or you can run a 10k, or a 5k, or ride your bike, or just take a hike.
Denver, Colorado, United States
Run anywhere. Run anytime. Just run. And buy a frontline worker a burrito while you do it!
First, you sign up for the event. All this means is you are going to get active on June 13, and if you feel comfortable then you'll share a picture with us of you doing what you love.
After you sign up, and this part is totally optional, you should go to our GoFundMe page and donate a burrito. It's like a non-required entry fee for the virtual event in your hometown, but you will receive only digital thank yous and recognition. Really, it's just $2, though, and will feed a frontline worker.
Then share it. Really, the whole goal is just to encourage people to get out and get active, and we can feed frontline workers in the process as a super bonus. If you want help organizing this in your town for your frontline workers, drop us a line. We'd love to help.
The COVID-19 crisis has affected many people in countless ways. We are on a mission to feed frontline workers at least one meal. We're forever thankful for those that put others before themselves, and especially those who continue to work day-in and day-out to ensure the health and safety of our communities.
For obvious reasons, marathons, half marathons, 5K and 10K races, and similar fundraising events have all been cancelled, but our enthusiasm for running and being assigned a numerical figure for the order in which we cross the finish line has not faltered. In our efforts to both remain goal-oriented and give back to our community, we decided to throw a virtual fitness event: Enter the Corunna Virus Virtual Fitness Burrito Fundraiser for our Front Line Workers 2020 (working title)
All funds raised will be used to purchase breakfast burritos to donate to our frontline workers.
As a group, we've been pooling money to donate breakfast burritos already. In total, we've delivered around 200 breakfast burritos to Denver Health, a level 1 trauma center located in the heart of Denver, Colorado. Food boosts morale, and we want Denver medical professionals to know we stand by them, support them, and are grateful for the work they are doing. And now we want to frontline workers everywhere to know.
Our burritos cost $2, so if we achieve our goal we'll be able to donate 1,000 burritos to Denver Health, which is only a fraction of the total employees. Ideally, we'll raise enough to feed all 7,500 employees, but that's merely a dream. Or another race.
Thank you for your donation and we look forward to seeing you and hanging out with you again.
It means a lot to us that you're even reading this page. Thanks for your support. Stay safe.
